New 14.8V Progressive Dynanics Converters

Just stumbled across this. Has anyone seen these yet?

Some of us would be REAL interested to see some test results on these. It would seem reasonable to ASSume that the charge rate should be a fair amount faster than the standard, 14.4V units... which were already very good.

*EDIT* (Portion removed after Bigfootford weighed in to correct the record. PDs do not always start in "Boost" mode)

But they'd probably be great for many of us here who pay attention and can force it out of boost with the pendant.

Still... unless the bank is fairly warm, I don't feel 14.8V for 3 hours is going to hurt.

I just noticed the 14.8VDC Model has the same part number as the 14.4VDC model I have. You would have thought they would add a letter change or something. The 14.8VDC Converter/charger is still listed as the PD-9260C for the model I have...

I probably would have added a 14.4-14.8 switch on the front of it...

  • Going to give IOTA a real run for its money. Will be interesting to see the first test on how amps sag as 14.8 is reached. IIRC amps are dropping on the 14.4 model even as voltage reaches 14.
