This is close enough true whatever your battery type or size of bank. Batteries work roughly the same and are highly predictable for that reason.
eg 55amps on 220AH takes about two hrs and twenty minutes. Same thing with 110amps on 440AH or 90amps on 360AH.
I have a 700AH bank and using 140amps (20% charging rate) it takes about two and a half hours to do a 50-90.
IAW your gen time of 5-6 hrs is not something you are stuck with--you can fix that.
Very true. My fix will be an Alexandrian solution -- a trade-in to a "B" or a short "C". With this in mind, I will have a lot more options for charging, including a decently sized solar array, so generator time is kept to a minimum.
