I never run 50/50 coolant water mix unless I'm in a pretty cold climate. It's the water that "carries away" the heat not the coolant. The coolant just keeps the water from boiling/freezing. Drain and fill with 70% water, 30% coolant or 60/40. Make sure you have no air.
