From what I understand, you need a cell connection to use Google Maps or even the Apple Maps. For me, this is not an option because of cell coverage here in NM. There are a number of places we go that there is no coverage. I am not trying the Copilot app as I think my stand alone GPS, "*****in' Betty", seems to have had a nervous breakdown on my last trip.
