Not sure but they are deffently heavier, I lifted them and a regular 24. Didn't have a scale but they told me they were right at 20lbs heavier.

I can't do 27's because there to long and 6v are to tall to fit in the tongue rack and still clear the front of the trailer the way it curves out. The battery box lids on the 24's just barely fit. Could always cut out the factory rack and drop it a few inches but really don't want to do that.

Amp hour ratings can be deceptive. For example if you go to Wal*mart and check out the specs on their Group 24s they will say something like 110 amp ahours at the ONE AMP rate"

We prefer to use the C/20 (20 hour) rate, and a G-24 is about 75 amp hours give or take a couple for all battery types save OPTIMA, (Optima it is closer to 50).

Make does not matter, (Except as noted) the amp hours per pound is a constant for all six volt, or for all 12 volt batteries and though you can put less lead in a group 24 package (Evidence Optima) you can not put more in.

(pound for pound six volt have 2 times the amp hours, but you need two of them in series to make one 12 volt and this makes it so the constant is the same for all 12 volt batteries, INCLUDING those made up from 2 six volt, If you find this paragraph confusing, ignore it).

Eventually they will come out with other chemistry batteries. Example: Li-ON, some of these may give a different amp-hours per pound rating.

As for upgrading to 27's or 6v's there just isn't room on my TT

You do know that a GC2 6V has the same footprint as a Grp 24? I'm not saying you have to go 6V, just an FYI.

If you have any golf courses in your path or can locate a cart distributor, I'd ask them about Trojan 1275's. A lot of carts are now using 12V's as the motors ramp to 48 V. There are a few members on the Forum using the 1275 and having good luck.

They have a 18 month warranty compared to 12 for the standard Interstate warranty. 36 month for their AGM.

I can't really give you anymore info on these batteries other than they're heavier than a standard gp24 deep cycle, they say about 20lbs heavier. They have them for $125 + core and Trojan gp24/100ah batteries I've found are about $190.

As for upgrading to 27's or 6v's there just isn't room on my TT.

They appear to be hybrids. Personally I'd go with a pair of 6's.

They seem to have almost the same specs as my old 27DCs at 675/850/180
Those are also marked as 120AH, but can't say the Pro ECLs are too.
