What's a few thousand dollars for a monitoring and control system for the battery?
Transcribe THAT to sticking a lithium battery for your RV into a shopping cart at COSTCO.
Present lithium accumulators are NOT merely expensive because the cost of lithium is expensive.
It is however due to the fact that the monitoring a control of each individual cell is expensive and until I see power discrete components DUMP in price I am not holding my breath. High current devices ARE EXPENSIVE. Then custom fit control and monitoring circuitry must be fitted and calibrated.
This and COMPETITIVELY PRICED adds up to be a OXYMORON
The price of lithium will continue to seep downward. But the main focus is and will remain huge meaning gigantic battery packs. There just is not enough market pressure to warrant full-scale development of micro capacity products that can compete against small ampere hour AGM accumulators. Not in the short amount of years I have remaining.
