A copper wire selected exactly for the diameter of the screw terminal connection. Bent into a U shape. The loop of the copper extends out far enough to wrap -whatever gauge- wire through the loop. Then you solder. Doubles the contact, form fits the terminal exactly and you can get an amazing amount of amperage through the strip screw terminal without compromising the connection.
3-to-1 dual wall heat shrink tubing is used to seal the juncture of the wire to the loop leaving the two copper wire tips exposed.
Home Despot sells 1 gauge through 2/0 building wire with large strands. I purchased 3' lengths of 4, 1, 1/0 and 2/0 building wire then stripped them down here. I have 16, 14, 12, and 10 gauge solid copper strands to last me the rest of my life.
Best way to skin cat is to fool it into believing the skinning will be good for it...
