The 200 watt kit along with one at Eco-worthy are the ones I have suggested for a while. Add a few hinges, a pair of legs and Eco-worthy wants $500 for it as a portable. For $279 it blows away the 24v panel and Eco-W cc as budget solar.
Solar for the weekender could make sense for a few reasons. Mounted it would mean the batteries would be ready to go and last longer too due to shallower cycling. In the case of a portable, you would get the shallower discharge, the ability to not conserve and in our case, the ability to do more than the batteries we can carry. Those can run the microwave a short time on their own. Add in the panels and we can run the microwave for baked potatoes, wait 20 minutes and do it again. They are my 440w micro generator.
