These nicads are older than heck. I put two amperes through them for 3 hours. Result all cells 0.00 volts. And they are weird. The size of a half roll of Tums. No labels. Cardboard over aluminum tubes. There is a tang of sheet metal connecting to the solid disc bottom of one battery, the other end having a border around the center assuming it is positive. A white 13 gauge (ah-so) wire connects the other tang to the bottom of the nicad pack.
So, it is "Replace The Whole Works" time. When I think of Lithium's Hungarian-Movie-Actress penchant for level of charge hysteronics, this certainly urges me toward NiMH. Kinda like dealing with bomb disposal: "Great if nothing goes wrong".
