No Power unless plugged in to shore power!!! Please Help...

Okay... So I have a 2010 Springdale 260 SRT.

I have power when plugged in but nothing from the batteries.

What I've done so far.

No blown fuses in electrical panel.
No thrown breakers.
Replaced fuse and housing on frame rail because of corrosion.
Disconnected ground wire, sanded everything nice and pretty and replaced.

Both batteries show over 6 Volts on my multi meter. (dual 6 volt set up)

I'm headed out tomorrow night with the scouts and it would sure be nice to have power back again.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Heath
  • There may be one of those self resetting thermal circuit breakers hidden along the wires somewhere. It may have failed open...
  • Also, flip off all breakers and reset same as fuses.
Since your batteries are good it sounds like the converter is ok.... but sometimes the converter may be bad which does no allow 12 volt power to get through
  • Sounds like you have a fuse somewhere you have not found. There are sometimes fuses in the battery box on the pos side. Also look in the converter and pull all the fuses are re-install. On my previous trailer I would sometimes run into a problem and just pulled out the fuse and reinstalled it.
  • No I don't have a battery disconnect.

Last time I went out with it was probably February and it was working.

I've been running sets of 6volt batteries since I purchased it, I understand how they work.

    Testing together reads 13+ volts.
  • Do you have a battery disconnect switch that may be turned on?

Did everything work before when you were not plugged in to shore power?

Your 6 volt batteries would have to be hooked in series to get 12 volts. what voltage reading are you getting from both batteries connected?
  • Check, clean and reseat the cable connections to the batteries - including the cable connections between your 6 volt batteries.
