No Rear Access to Shower Valve

The mixing T on my shower valve (Dura) is cracked and leaking.
Easy fix, right? The problem is that it's a corner shower on 2 exterior walls and there's no way to get behind it to remove the water lines & mounting nuts to replace it. Dura offers a replacement "T" but I don't know if you can replace it w/o rear access.
So - does anybody make an access panel that I can install near the shower valve from inside the shower? Maybe something to bolt in place after I cut a 4" hole in the enclosure? I really don't want to tackle removing the whole enclosure to get access behind it.
I could let the dealer do it (warranty) but he's 2 hours away.
  • There are a lot of different hatches for everything from water fills to electric to gas. I'd start going through some online catalogs or sites until I found one that would confuse a future owner so badly they posted here asking what was supposed to be behind the door on their trailer.

This is a little bigger than 4x4, you would have to cut it down to fit the space between the walls I'm sure. But no one would ever think twice about it.
  • Well, my shower enclosure is all one piece, no access anywhere.

The good news is that I emailed Dura and they said I can replace the mixing "T" from the front, no rear access needed. We'll see.
  • My camper has a corner shower and the faucet sits on a panel about 7x11 inches and is screwed into shower wall. So when I had a leak behind the faucet I just unscrewed the screws and fixed the leak and then I caulked the panel and screwed it back on the shower wall. No more leaks. So yes the do have a panel for the faucets.Behind the panel they did cut out a opening.Check out Dyersonline.com they have lots of shower replacement parts maybe they can get you a panel
