non exit!

our MH has 2 of these levers that you just rotate and the emergency window opens.
except it doesn't!
with both open and giving it a good push... nothing moves.
any ideas ?
thanks all
  • Slow, steady push in one corner should move it. You should hear the gasket start to pop as it starts to un-stick.
  • Quick trip wrote:

Have a rag handy so the WD40 doesn't run down the sides.

Rather than WD40 my preference would be to use one of the spray silicone lubricants and let it soak in. Once the window is open then use NAPA SIL Glyde (comes in a tube) and rub some on the seal to prevent future sticking. Sil Glyde also is great for all the rubber seals on the car and truck door seals.
  • I make a point to open mine before every trip as part of my preparations. It takes just a few seconds. I agree that if you spray some WD-40 on it now and let it set for a few minutes it will open.
  • They stick hard. You need to force it out about once a year. I do it as part of my de-winterizing process. If I remember.

  • The rubber seal has bonded to the frame. Rubber mallet might work, if possible slide a knife blade along the frame to peal the seal off. You may need to replace the seal afterwards.
  • They get stuck because of none use. Hit it with a hammer OK maybe a hammer is a bit much how about a rubber mallet.
  • Maybe just a "good push" isn't enough. Maybe it takes a "really good shove". :)
