Yep. I own the remote start model. I bought it
here. At the time I bought, they were selling a Dealer modified Extended run version, that I see they no longer sell. They still sell the kit to do it, that includes 10' fuel hose, connectors, fuel pump and all the hoses and clamps needed to do the modification along with YouTube video step-by-step instructions. if you google the generator model number you get a youtube link to the video to see if its something capable of doing.
I purchased a 6 gallon marine tank, and can run for days on eco mode, and can refill it with the generator running without fear of starting a fire.
As for dealer support for repairs, they are out there. I did a dumb thing, and after changing my oil, I went to check the spark arrester screen, and promptly dropped one of the bolts down the housing. That prompted me to start disassembling that end of the housing to retrieve it, and made things worse. I contacted Champion, told them the story, and they covered the repairs under warranty, and the closest repairing dealer was only 15 minutes from my home, and was repaired in less than two weeks(they had to order parts). My personal opinion, Champion *should* show on their website those dealers that can do repairs, to give customers warm fuzzies that they arent alone if something goes wrong. I had no idea the dealer in my po-dunk little town could do these repairs with factory warranty.
Something else I did for home use. I now keep my extra 30amp RV cords at home. If I lose power at home, I will use this generator to power just a few selected items as needed. Only needed a few extras, like the 30amp male to a pair of 15 amp female plug recepticles, some additional fan-out plugs(1x3) and some extra extension cords to run to various items, and added a single circuit transfer switch to my furnace. Most of the items I would want to run in an extended power outage are not high draw items anyway(TV, gas furnace, electric pilot gas water heater, refridge, etc).
