Norcold 1200 warm refer

My 4 year old Norcold 1200 refer portion is warming. the freezers are at 25 and 15 degrees. I have switched it to propane. The fuses are good. The fins do not feel as cold as they should. I have 3 stack fans an internal fan and I have placed a fan out side. The outside temp is currently 105. Any help is appreciated. dont know why it decided to quit the day before we are leaving.

With the two freezer sections different hopefully you just need to give it more time to cool down. Sounds like you've done everything you can other than turning off the ice maker.
  • If it's in a slide it is at a severe disadvantage. It's just too hard to get rid of the heat through a side vent. Everything has to be perfect, particularly with the heat you're experiencing. I never could get mine to work correctly and finally replaced it with a residential. It might just be too hot.....

    good luck
  • At 105 you need to get the heat out of the rear. Ours will easily maintain box temps in the low 30's and freezer in the low single digits in 100+, but only when exhausting rear air. Is it empty or loaded? When did you start it?

    What's a stack fan?
  • started 3 days ago, not in slide, freezers now at 14, box at 40, temp 76 at 3:30 AM will be 105+ today. Will try to find RV person in Cottonwood tomorrow. Get a styrofoam today. Thanks for the responses. Maybe Doug will see this today. The cooling unit is 4 yrs old the cabinet is 15. door seals seem to be tight.

Put water in the defrost/drip pan to make sure hot air is not getting in. A couple lbs of dry ice in the refer section may get you through until you can figure it out.
  • do you get the same temps if run on gas? I just went through this, on gas it ran like a champ, electric not so good.
Mine turned out to be the electric heating element.
  • Update. Box temp was 29 at 4 AM now 33 at 11:15 outside temp near 95. Dont know why it decided to work so far today. Will try on electric tomorrow. Could be one of the heaters has died. Thanks for the responses Marv

is it full or empty? If empty it will wander all over the place
