Norcold AC/DC Fridge Troubleshooting
Hello -
I am hoping someone may be able to help. I am troubleshooting a 1995ish Norcold DE-541. Worked good all year on DC and AC. A couple of weeks ago I found it turned on but not cooling at all. It was pulled out and we found the compressor not working.
Tested voltage to compressor while plugged into AC. It reads 24V with the right angle connector off and drops to 14.3V with connector clipped on the compressor. It is drawing amperage at 3.7A . Resistance was checked at 3.3 ohm
The compressor is a Sawafuji SK-611M .
EDIT: Found a service manual online and it said anything over 2.5A is a locked compressor and to replace cooling unit. Is a hard start an option ?
