FIXED (I think) - this morning, I ran several more google searches AND re-read the install directions that came with the Amish cooling unit. When the Norcold cooling unit was installed I had the recall done and did not re-install that with the new unit. Apparently, with the new Amish units, you have to jump the control box male connections to make it work, where the recall wires had been connected. Made a short jumper and installed it, turned the power back on and the 12v and WOW no error message. Doing a test run now to make sure all is well before I push it back into its space.
NOTE; for those doing the switch out to the Amish units, they do come with instructions, BUT, they are basically the Norcold instructions where the vendor has inserted notes here and there where the Amish install differs from the mfg units,,,,HOWEVER, they used like a size 6 font and I just missed it when putting the wires back on - it clearly states to jump those 2 contact points and that the recall switch box is no longer needed,,,it was just so small type and off to the side that I simply missed it. Perhaps this will help those who make the switch in the future.
Once I have it all back together, I will post pics and little pointers to help others,,,in the meantime, thanks to all those who made comments.
