I don't think that's the case here. According to the Norcold diagnostic-mode readout, The thermistor temperature was in the high 20s, low 30s when usually its < 20 .. I would think that if the ice was making the thermistor colder, then the thermister temp would be normal.
This is why I was thinking that the ice was actually preventing cooling instead of masking the thermistor temp.
