Norcold fridge mother board reset

Hello,

I recently bought a 2005 Thor Wanderer with a Norcold fridge unit. A couple of camping trips in and the propane tank ran dry during the night. We awoke to the sound of the fridge trying to reignite. I switched the tanks, but the fridge would not reignite. I presumed the tank was purged and refilled the original and fire it up. After firing up and trying to cool it went into what I now understand to be the 'no' code for no cooling. 5 x Green flashing light with 3 sec intervals. All of what I now know by the way was from a post from 'Rob' in 2011 explaining everything that was happening at the time to me. Because of Rob's post I was able to perform a successful mother board reset and the fridge fired up straight away and began cooling. Only for it to fail again with the same 'no' error message. This time unfortunately I am unable to reset the mother board with the same jumper wire technique.
So here's my question; Have I fried the mother board? Is there another internal shut off blocking a reset that I am unaware of? or any other advice you good forum people out there might shed light on.
I've read about the Norcold recall but don't think my model is involved in it, model #N611R serial number #1332594.

Any help would be appreciated.

Jason

  • I have a Norcold 62X series and had a similar issue.. I was able to go into the diagnostic menu and clear the fault codes.. Not sure if your N611 has the same feature.

  • 1. A NO CO means that SOMETHING has stopped the refer from cooling down correctly.
    2. That means you MUST find the problem or you will continue to get the NO CO.
    3. You have not fried the Motherboard
    4. But, until you find the reason for the NO CO, replacing the motherboard or resetting it will do no good.
    5. Causes of NO CO
    A. Blocked or leaking Cooling Unit
    B. Ventilation behind the refer blocked or inadequate
    C. Incorrect LP pressure or Dirty Burner/flue tube
    D. IF you have rear cooling fan/s, they are not functioning
    E. Low (below 108 volts) AC voltage
    6. NO CO is a Cooling Unit protection shut down feature. Doug
  • When we have had problems, we unplug both the battery and electric power in the outside compartment. Let it sit for at least 5 minutes and then plug battery, then electric back in. This has done something - reset board, I don't know, but the refrigerator ran again with the error codes it was spewing out.
