Norcold fridge stock hinges versus heavy duty hinges

I broke two door hinges. First covered under warranty, second I had to pay for. Norcold said it was because Jayco's wooden door inserts are too heavy. When ordering second door, I ordered the hinge reinforcement kit, even though they said I don't need it. Never had a problem since. Wonder why they make it if no one needs it. :-)
