here's Dittmer's thread. It has his work and photos, my questions, and I just added a pic and text at the end.
So, SOME fridges, seemingly later models than ours (2002), have different doors than ours does, and from all I can tell the kit works on those and is a very good idea. Each kit contains a right and a left support, intended to support only the bottom of the large door. They give both so they don't need to stock a Left and a Right (hinged) kit. The leftover hinge (a "right" if the door is left-hinged) will support the upper hinge of that same door. Dittmer bought two kits so he could support the bottom of both Freezer and Fridge doors. That leaves two supports left over, so he added them to the tops of both doors as well.
Look at the pix on Page 1 then Page 5 and you'll see the differences. If your Norcold is Page 1, I'd say Get a Kit(or Kits). But if it's Page 5, Kits don't work and the design makes them unnecessary.
Just sitting here daydreaming, probably one of the worst things for a door would be to be loaded THEN come OPEN on the road. The latch side supports the door to an extent, and that's lost when it's open. Then flailing around... Not Good.
Y'all take care.
