That is usually part of the replacement safety valve. Also, that is what turns the indicator light on. It should NOT cause a problem with keeping the LP flame on. Hence, I have never had to replace that particular part. Doug
The interrupter is what the thermocouple screws into and shuts the gas off if the thermocouple does not send the signal that the flame is going
