Norcold N621 fault code "A"

So, just trying to get recently purchased '01 Wanderer Lite 240MS TT up and ready to roll. Trying to get the fridge going for the first time. Plugged in to shore power, AC, Microwave, everything else is working. But the fridge is giving fault code A, which according to the owners manual I just found online, means the fridge isn't getting AC power.

Used the mode button to manually put the fridge in LP mode, and at first the temp setting number was flashing, which again according to the manual means the fridge is operating in "backup mode" and needs service. But, the flashing number stopped flashing after a couple of minutes in LP mode and is lit solid now.

But still getting fault code A when I try switching over to AC mode.

Breakers and fuses in main panel are all fine.

Where/what to look at next?

Thanks!

  • Low/No AC power available to refrigerator.AC cord not plugged into power board.F2 fuse open.

That means (F2) that the fuse is blown on the board. The F2 fuse is the fuse in the power to the 120 heat Element and the usual cause of a F2 fuse bad is a defective 120 heat element. The refer should not cool at all if the only power source is 120 volts. Doug

    how,s your 12volt battery?

Not sure, but suspect "not so good".

The trailer had been sitting in the driveway in ungodly heat for 9 days, with my kids in and out every day turning on lights, trying everything out etc. before I had a chance to even take much of a look at it.

First thing I did was put a meter on the batteries and they were only putting out 7V. I plugged in shore power and they immediately went to 12.7 - being charged, obviously.

I've not had any chance to check them since.

Guess I need to unplug the shore power and give it a little while just running the fridge to knock the surface charge off and check them again. Got a feeling I'm going to see less than 12V though...

Thanks for the input, I had assumed the battery condition wouldn't really matter when plugged in to shore power. This whole RV thing is brand new to me!
