I'll say that without inspection, I cannot say 100%, but I have worked on- literally- thousands of these units, and am an expert legal witness in the field, and *if* the hose clamp holding the thermocouple to the steel tubing actually did cause the failure, it was on the verge of failure anyway. These units are tested to over 800 psi, so they are not a fragile, brittle material.
Time to lawyer up, and good luck with that.
