Norcold Won't Stay Lit.....Sometimes Won't lite
Camping w/ friend this week. His fridge either won't stay lit, or won't lite because of no spark. I finally unplugged the white 12v wire from the control box and plugged it onto the gas valve (after unplugging the wires off the valve)
Then plugged a jumper from the gas valve to ground, then lit the burner. It burned fine (normal) nice blue flame, and kept the fridge cold all 3 days. I thought it strange that w/ it burning day and nite it didn't freeze the fridge part, but it didn't, even tho it did get very cold.
Anyway, it had been giving trouble before, so earlier in the week, we had cleaned the flue and burner assy, etc etc blowed w/ air, then vacuumed the whole mess. And even tho it fired right up and appeared to be fixed, it didn't fix the problem.
The only thing I have left is to change out the igniter (about $12) and hope that would fix it. Then I would think....control board !!
Any ideas ? If I can't fix it, he doesn't see anything wrong w/ hotwiring the gas valve again, but I really don't like the idea.
Any thought on that ?
