Bayite DC 6.5V-100V Digital ammeter voltmeter Amazon suggested this for me and I'm thinking for $20 I might just give it a try. Has very good reviews too.

I'm lazy (and cheap) and used an ancient plastic toy box we had lying around.
But it's all hidden in back of the clothes closet so it doesn't really matter :)
As long as it works, I tell myself. At least I didn't use duct tape!
