If I needed to equalize I'd separate them out for that purpose once a month. Since AGM formats do not encourage equalization I don't do that very often. Peukert losses are much reduced by using both banks at once. Charging is slower because depth of discharge is 50%. Even with AGM tapering of charge does happen.
Having the switches does allow me to use one bank while charging the other. That's good for truly getting to 100% state of charge using my (by today's standards) tiny solar farm.
