Odd Norcold 622 problem
I have a Norcold 662 frig that has been working excellent on AC, continuously, for 2 years until recently. It is no longer working and the eyebrow panel is displaying conflicting information. It is a 2-way fridge but the LP is turned off (on purpose).
This is what it's doing: Move the switch from the OFF position to the AUTO position and all 3 lights come on (ELEC, X, LP), then the X goes off and the LP light is lit but very dim, Then the igniter tries to light the LP but since the gas if off it can't, so the X lights up, when this happens the LP light gets bright. NOW I HAVE ALL 3 LIGHTS ON AT THE SAME TIME AND ALL BRIGHT.
I found a good step by step trouble shooting guide from Norcold (see the links below). I checked all the basic steps as required and did not get a fail until step 19 which is a test of the ELEC-X-LP switch. I cannot get any voltage at this switch but I may be testing it wrong because when I move the switch it does seem to work. Step 20 of the guide is not applicable since I did not get 12v in step 19. The other fail is on step 22, I did not get 120v at J6 and J7. I also checked the NORMAL/OFF/HIGH HUMIDITY switch and it appears to work fine. I checked all fuses and breakers as well.
So, according to to the guide, the 1st fail (step 19) indicates a defective cable. I find this highly unlikely since the RV has not been moved during this whole time and appears to be in excellent shape. The next fail, step 20, indicates a defective Eyebrow board. And the next fail, step 22, indicates a defective power supply (which I assume is the main board).
Needless to say, I'm quite confused as to which part to change 1st. The cable failing seems unlikely and since this cable is connected between the main board and the eyebrow board it seems to me it has to be one of these two. The odd situation of having all 3 lights on at the same time indicates to me that the eyebrow board went bad. But, not getting 120v at J6 & J7 (which feeds the AC heater), indicates the main board has failed. Which came 1st, the chicken or the egg?
See the 1st link for the wiring pictorial and the wiring schematic for this model. See the next 5 links for the troubleshooting guide I used. The model number of the main board is 61647422 and the eyebrow board is 61647322.
Thanks in advance!
