Most everyone trys to recharge the batteries in the daytime so that they will (hopefully) make it thru the night.
I do the opposite for cold weather camping. I run the generator all night, when the power is being used the most, and let the batteries carry me thru the , when the load on them is lighter.
I believe that the Mr Buddy type heaters require vents or windows to be opened..4000 BTU won't cut it with them open. Best to run the furnace. Use a dehumidifier and close the unit up tight.
I agree. 4,000 won't cut it. But the 9 or 18k the Big Buddy cranks out? I've just found the blower furnace to be really inefficient, and a genuine battery hog. Half of the heat gets blown outside.
Running the generator all night seems like a good call, but I'm doubtful it would make me popular with the neighbors. On Mt. Hood, the RV area is fairly small. My thought was to run the generator during the day while I'm on the slopes.
