I try to fist-bump (not in church) instead of shaking hands, which is often seen as a snub to many older folks. If 'forced' to shake hands, I can't wait to get home to wash it. If I'm in a restaurant and someone wants to shake my clean hand, it's bump time, and I don't care what they think. I just did that this morning and I heard the guy mumble "smart ass" under his breath.
Being "polite" is less important to me than doing what I can to stay healthy.
