I sure as heck would use it. What have you got to lose? Does the proposed Magnum have a battery charger while the old inverter doesn't? Except for a zap oven the 1100 watt unit should be able to handle most of the chores. I've seen smaller installs down here with Exels and they didn't seem to have scorch marks or hammer blows applied to them.
