Yes you can change the oil and filter and spark plug. Doesn't have an oil filter just a gas filter. Nothing dangerous about doing the routine service. That model may have a low oil level sensor causing a false shutdown. Onan stopped using them because of the problems they caused. Look for a wire under the engine going to the oil pan.
