- Dusty_RExplorerI have a spot welder that most likely good do the job.
Dusty - Bird_FreakExplorer IIA welder with a mig could easily spot it back without warping and very little heat.
- ReidtrekExplorerThank you. I will order a new filter housing assembly. Looks like fun trying to get it out...will have a pro do it. Appreciate you insight.
Dave - j-dExplorer IIIt's a flat sheet metal plate with the two tops of a V-shaped wing-nut bracket spot welded to it. Filter wing-nut screw extends from bottom of the V. What/Where is it broken? I haven't had ours out, but I know it's miserable access and doubt it could be welded in place because of all the plastic shrouding around it. Not to mention the gasoline nearby in the carburetor. I'm sure it could be brazed or re-welded, but it can't warp or interfere with Filter on one side and Carburetor on the other. Or it'll leak air and let dirt into the engine. For those reasons, my guess'd be...Replace.
An epoxy repair like JBWeld might work, but again, if it doesn't you've got dirt entering your genny's engine...Replace. - TodduptonExplorerCan it be re welded?
