Why would you say it is NOT TRUE? Are all RV's built exactly alike? I don't think so.
the converter can be anywhere, it runs from shore or genny
the generator can be on either side of the RV, under the bed in the rear or under the sofa midships, or up front in a DP
the ATS will be where the shore cord and generator output meet, before going to the breaker box/power panel
the converter may or may NOT be part of Breaker box assembly
its main job being to charge the batteries it does NOT have to be near or part of the Breaker box/power panel
