Dont assume beings you changed your fuel filter last year it is still good...it only takes a partial tank of contaminated gas to plug a filter....or a few minutes of run time with a gas tank that has rusted internally.
If your leaking filter is the crimped together 60s Ford style filter...double check it..Onan had a large batch of bad filters that leaked in the crimped seam. I had 1 on my 2006 5500.
Another thing....in super hot weather....vapor lock could occur....the trick we have used since the 60s(yes before Al Gore invented Global warming) is to use spring loaded clothes pins on the fuel line...the wood absorbs heat, thus preventing fuel from boiling inside the fuel lines
