Update: I was able to pick up a new filter from a local RV shop. They wanted way to much money for a "special order" pump, and knowing I could get it for less elsewhere, I passed.
I installed the new filter, and while I was at it, installed a plastic small engine filter just before the carb inlet so I could monitor the gas in the line.
Priming sounded poor, but it did put some gas in the small engine filter. Upon touching the start, it fired to life. Whoa! After letting it run for a couple minutes, thinking it was going to exhaust the fuel in the float, it kept going. I added the AC for a load and let it run.
15 minutes into the run, I was beginning to think maybe it was just the filter after all, when it started surging a bit. I was about 30 feet away, and started walking toward the MH, got about 10 feet and it died. Upon pulling the cover to look at the small engine filter, I found no gas, and trying the prime again, the pump sounded very faintly... poor thing.
Next up: Order a new pump, and hope I get it in hand before our trip to Wyoming in 2 weeks.
