If the ball bearing has broken then the generator rotor is most likely jammed against the rotor. Usually the support bracing for the rotor will be broken and this is really an ONAN technician type of job. It is usually fixable. See if you can find a level 3 tech as they are more experienced. If no ONAN trained tech, go someplace else. Check the yellow pages under "generators, electric" or call ONAN at the number in your owners manual.
