onan generator 5500
my onan generator starts but then stalls after releasing the start switch.

Checked the manual. 4 is not a valid code. There a 2, and a 3 and a whole bunch of others but no 4 or 44 or 22. om the manual.
Try again, it says if you get 3 blinks, (or perhaps this applies to 4 as well) touch the stop button again for the next digit.
