At the genset is the remote harness quick connect. This is external, not inside the genset housing. Take it apart and look at all the pins in both sides. You may find corrosion(rust) and THAT will complete the start ground signal. Usually, front Gensets in Diesels have this problem, not Gensets in the side rear. But, your Genset will get a lot of water thrown at it from the rear tires. Doug
