I have checked the power going into the gen. from the back while someone pushes the start button. NOTHING! No draw in current whatsoever. The only draw I get is when I'm measuring the voltage coming out of the controller/inverter and that's not like a immediate drop it just is a continuous drop all the way down to 8.45v and stops and stays there for about 7 minutes and jumps back up to 11.98v and then as soon as I hit the start switch again it starts dropping weather or not I hold the switch down or not..I also checked the voltage going into the inverter and that stays at 12v regardless of what the voltage coming out of the inverter does..:h
