- DarthMuffinExplorerSilblades here too. I am a convert and won't buy a regular blade again. Won't have to until I get a different vehicle either :)
- RVJimofOregonExplorerEvery fall when Costco puts Goodyear blades on sale I replace mine. Our Prius has a bad curve and they are the best ones I have ever used (and cheaper).
Jim - Victory402ExplorerThanks for the info guys, It seems I'm not getting much life out of mine.
- pdoggExplorerSilblade as well here, they are silicone based, not rubber and will last for years.
- marcsbigfoot20bExplorerI have Silblades on all my vehicles.
I will never have to buy any ever again...unless I buy a new vehicle that I cant swap over.
Get them from Amazon
Silblade wipers - ernie1ExplorerMany people change their wiper blades because they chatter and so they think they're hardened and shot. What causes most chattering is the fact that the long thin flat arm that the wiper assembly is attached to is bent slightly after years of use or being bent accidentally when cleaning the windshield. As a result, the blade is not perpendicular to the window surface and will work fine in one direction but chatter in the other. I've used a couple of crescent wrenches with each one placed on opposite ends of the flat arm and tweaked it so that the blade is sitting correctly.

clean your blades with a cloth rag and alcohol to remove the dirt
x2 - Beverley_KenExplorerWhen parked/stored, I slip on a piece of 3/4" foam pipe insulation available at any hardware store. About 75 cents a piece. The wiper blades on ours are still good after 4 years.
Ken - mena661ExplorerWe don't get enough rain where I live to worry about blades. I think I'm on my second set in 7 years of owning my car. My truck though has gone through quite a few. They seem to break down faster than my car. More susceptible to the heat and dry air I guess.
- lightfootExplorer IIII use Rain-X on out windshields twice a year. Many times I don't even have to turn on the wipers as the rain just runs off. It also helps in the winter as the snow and ice don't have a chance to stick to the windshield. Makes scrapping the windshield a breeze. It takes a bit to put it on correctly, but well worth the extra time involved up font.
