My question to Victron:
I think BFL has it right. The source with the highest V provides the most power to loads.

I recently converted the battery bank of my trailer to 24V and used your 40A converter (Orion 24/12-40) to provide 12V to the trailer utilities. All is working well and I'm very happy with the product.
However when hitched to my truck, the trailer's 12V system will also be connected to 12V from the truck's alternator. Will that be a problem?
Similarly when on 120VAC shore power, I was planning on using the trailer's existing 120VAC-12VDC converter to provide 12V. If I forget to turn off the Victron before switching to the 120VAC source of 12V, would it be harmed in any way?
IOW can I just leave the Victron 40A 24-12VDC converter on without problems when other 12V sources are present?

I'm told by engineering this shouldn't be a problem.
