Googling it, there's some forum discussions, and it looks like this might apply to PWM controllers only.
But that might actually work as I was toying with the idea of adding a portable solar system with a separate controller next year. I could use a 20A PWM controller that has a reasonable 24V battery charge profile and feed it either with the 2x12V solar panels in series or a 20A Meanwell PS.
Prolly could afford the Meanwell+PWM this year, and get the extra solar panels and cables next year ...
