If a person purchases anything and he chooses price as his sole guideon, grab a net and a tranq dart gun.
I discovered SIEMENS was the OEM provider for a Dodge radiator fan motor. A new OEM Dodge fan cost $150. The brand new SIEMENS motor I purchased cost $22 and the image close-up is undeniably identical to OEM. A Chinese copy costs $90.00. The Siemens motor is 100% made in Germany.
Outback has an awesome reputation. They experienced what this philosophy did for TRACE. Some folks do not bother to THINK. Have you any idea what shipping cost is on a 70 lb item? Or how much $$$$ is involved in a mere ten mile tow off the freeway? You don't get to work on your own rig 500-miles from home. Then figure out the cost of a 10-mile round trip to SCUMBAG Auto Parts to get your new lifetime warranty replacement. And the two days lost on your vacation.
Less than ONE PERCENT of lifetime warranties last more than three exchanges. The honorable lifetime warranty owners know the sucker will give up. My Trace 812SB is still going strong after TWENTY YEARS of part time use and SEVENTEEN YEARS of 24/7 use.
