I agree, do not use the EZ-Lube feature. If you do use it, pump very slow while rotating the wheel. After all that mess and work I can't believe you still gave each hub five pumps of grease.
+1 for new shoes and turn the drums if the linings were covered in grease. Not much more to just get the entire assembly and bolt it on. Add up the total and consider if going disk to also get superior stopping is worth it to you.
Bearing Buddies are for boats that do not have EZ-Lube. Once the entire hub is filled with grease the water will not be drawn in when submerged in cool water.
