I've had EZ Lube hubs and have no issues. Don't forget many of these posters don't own the EZ Lube hubs and are passing along opinions they've formed from reading about people that have had problems.
There can be issues if the seal is compromised during assembly, which happens fairly frequently. Also there is a dearth of grease used when assembling. Using a power grease gun isn't a good idea, and not spinning the wheels while greasing can also be problematic. I checked mine after 6 years and they are fine. But if you pack the bearings by hand, the EZ Lube system is pretty much not needed. Well packed bearings will last many years and many miles.
