1. what type of grease everyone like?
2. packing a bearing...does everyone use the cone shaped packer or can I just use my hands to pack?
3. might as well buy seals beforehand....I have a crossroads cruiser. what type of axles are they and where best place to get seals?
4. I looked into having done and its 200$. not a terrible price but I think I need to learn to do this. im pretty handy and I've done a few drum brakes but to be honest I've never cared to do them. disks are so much easier.
5. any other thoughts before I tackle ?
1)I use Mobile 1 with superior dropping point specification.
2)I use a cone style hand tool. By hand is fine but wear gloves.
3)Disk or drum seems about the same to me. Although I just converted my trailer to disks for better stopping not for easier bearing re-pack.
4)Find the manufacturer marking or band on the axle to identify. I get mine at etrailer or other quality internet supplier.
5)Use latex (or similar) gloves. Much easier clean up.
