This one has an ambient light sensor (ALS) but it's "only" 720p. There is a 1080p 32" but it doesn't have the ALS.
I am looking for a new TV for the LR also, probably in the 32" range, please post back if you find one with a light sensor.

Specs list 23.8W draw. $200 at Costco. - NinerBikesExplorer
- bcbigfootExplorerI checked power draw on my 4 year old (Costco) 19" Toshiba LCD TV/DVD Combo.
24 watts. on TV.
27.5 watts on with TV and internal DVD running.
.6 watts on standby. - BurbManExplorer IIMex, you don't need an HDMI port on your laptop, just about every flat screen TV has a VGA port on it:
If you have a port on your laptop for an external monitor, just get a VGA cable and connect to the TV that way. That's how I plug my laptop into our TV when we watch movies online. - msiminoffExplorer IIAs another data point; I have a 23" Samsung LCD TV (also from Costco). The current draw on my house battery is 1.4A when powered directly from the battery and 3.8A when running from its power brick via the inverter.

This is what I used on my TV.
Do you own a Kill-o-watt? - mena661Explorer

Just my TV was discontinued.
I thought you said it was discontinued...I guess you meant your particular model, I took that to mean the models with the sensors...OK will look again, thanks.

Look at the tech specs for the power draw.NinerBikes wrote:
You're welcome! For the movie watchers, there are low draw Bluray players too. I found a Sony that had an advertised draw of 25W. I don't remember the model but it was physically small compared to most players.
Thanks Mena, for opening up our eyes about energy conserving LCD TV's. That's one of my bigger amp draws on my battery... Now, how about low amp consumption water pumps and air fans??? ;-) We are getting more efficient, bit by bit. - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerI'm on AGM 31 power right now, with a Fantastic Fan blowing. I wonder, Niner, what the low-volts dropout voltage is on that TV. Could it handle operating, say, at 12.3 volts?

- NinerBikesExplorerokay I'm $1.61 more broke with a Polish dog and a refill on the soft drink and about $191 poorer after picking up a Samsung 24 inch, it looks like the amps on it is very low and it also does have a 14 volt brick, which is another consideration in the savings I'll get when I won't have to power up my 150 watt inverter. I can then plug in directly to 12 volt cig lighter type power outlet. Moar Amps savings, if it works with 12. Think it will.
