Id install only whatever you can financialy afford,,
Even it it covers only partial charge,whatever solar surplus comes in when not charging cars,,you sell back to electric power provider..
In my neck of the woods solar panels cost 1$ per w,,if I remember corectly,very affordable and I see many many house puting pv panels everywhere,,there are also huge acres of solar farms around so electric power will always be here..Im in S Ontario btw,,near motor city..
