Yeah, 16 awg might become a concern. But 16 awg cable has resistance that's way too high (4 mohm/ft) to be used for charging batteries. It would never work! I have 23 feet of cable (one way). The voltage drop at 45A is 4.1V! That's absurd to think any MH manufacturer would install 16 awg wire. In other words, there's never a chance of starting a fire with an undersized charging cable.

Maybe 16 awg might (eventually) heat up enough when carrying 45 amps so as to start a fire (eventually) ... perhaps even 14 awg might be a concern (eventually).
