I thought the idea of your circuit was to complete the FB loop at the battery so as to always maintain a constant Parallax internal set voltage - and a bit more than the stock Parallax's 13.8 volts due to your mod tweaks - on the battery terminals???
In other words, aren't you trying to do two things at once with you FB loop mod -> hold a constant voltage, that you raised a bit, on the battery terminals regardless of current flow between the converter and the battery(ies) and the converter?
The "perfect" battery charger would be a multi-stage one with it's feedback loop appropriately (and safely) completed at the battery so that what it's internal circuitry's set boost/bulk/float stage voltages are is actually what's maintained on the battery terminals during each stage regardless of how much current the battery is accepting throughout that stage. The battery manufacturers' recommended charging voltages for each stage means actual voltages right on the battery - not back on the charger's terminals. This little "secret requirement" is something I've never seen emphasized in specific battery charging specifications.
